Research Shows a New Dosage of Cialis Works Better

A new study into the effects of the erectile dysfunction medication Cialis have shown that the relatively new dosage of the drug, where it is taken once a day, can significantly improve a patient's confidence, relationships and sexual satisfaction.

The researchers looked at the psychosocial outcomes of the Cialis 5mg daily dose, using a variety of questionnaires. These included the Sexual Life Quality Questionnaire, the Self-Esteem and Relationship Questionnaire and other forms measuring a patient's satisfaction with the hardness of the erection they achieved, the quality of intercourse and their overall feelings about their sexual life.

Participants went through a 4-week run in phase and then were put into two randomized groups, with one receiving the 5mg dose of tadalafil, the key ingredient in Cialis, and the other being given a placebo.

The group taking the Cialis reported that both they and their partners were more satisfied with their sexual lives, while there were significant improvements in their relationships, confidence and overall self-esteem.

The researchers from the Department of Urology at the University Hospitals of Cleveland concluded that the daily dosage improved treatment for erectile dysfunction and allowed patients to enjoy better sex lives.

When it was first launched, Cialis Daily was hailed as something of a breakthrough in the field of erectile dysfunction. Unlike other treatments Viagra or Levitra, patients by taking the medication effectively banished their ED worries, as they would always be ready for sex, without having to take a pill immediately before intercourse. By taking a lower dose of the medication, users ensure that it is always present in their blood stream, allowing for more sexual spontaneity.

However the daily treatment is expensive and it has proved more cost-effective for most people to buy single-use pills, as most users were not engaging in daily sexual activity.

Data recently published on NHS prescriptions for erectile dysfunction showed that Viagra was still by far the most popular treatment for erectile dysfunction, accounting for 1.18 million of the 1.98 million prescriptions for ED issued last year.

The drug's popularity is thought to be due to its more recognisable brand name, which has engendered patient trust, though the effects of one pill of Cialis generally last longer compared to one pill of Viagra. In America, the manufacturers of Cialis, Eli Lilley, have invested a lot in upping the brand profile of the medication resulting in a narrowing of the gap between Viagra and Cialis sales, but in the UK Cialis is still less well known.
